# How Travel Insight works

Let's take a look inside.

Travel Insight collects data from every search and redirect on our app and website, across 295 different data points – revealing powerful insights into the world's travel habits and behaviours, as well as forecasting future trends.

Choose to receive aggregated data via our API for faster processing and analysis, in a raw data file containing every search and redirect parameter, or through an SaaS online portal for easier break down and visualisation.

You can also access historical data sets to guide future strategies, and use up-to-the-minute insights to make faster, smarter decisions.

## The Search and Redirect

Data is collected at two specific events: the Search and the Redirect. The first is a great way of understanding the demand of a route or date, while the second – where the user redirects to a partner’s website – is representative of bookings. We never collect personal data.

## Search data

We capture a lot of information when a traveller makes a search. Here are a few key data points:

- Origin and destination pair (city and airport)
- Departure and return dates
- IP address to identify user’s location
- Type of trip: return, one way, multi-city
- Length of stay
- Cabin class
- No. of passengers
- The date of the search
- Device type
- Browser type

## Redirect data

Like the search, we capture information when a traveller redirects to a partner's website. This includes their preferred flight, price, trip duration and more, plus data from their search fields.

- Airline, including LCCs
- Full itinerary showing all segments
- Airport latitude and longitude
- Length of time in transit and in flight
- Price in chosen currency and USD

## Capturing early travel intent

Planning and booking a trip can be a lengthy process. Unlike other data providers, we collect data from the earliest stages of the journey – so you can see demand, conversion and future trends for every market and globally.

Travel Insight complements traditional airline data sources to give a new perspective on demand and opportunities.

## Time and trends

We capture the time of every search and redirect – and for which travel dates – so you can paint a clear picture of seasonal trends and calculate your booking horizon more easily. You can also compare different time periods to observe short and long-term trends, so you're in a better position to take advantage of what's next.
